Summary

In an 8-week randomised parallel pilot trial, researchers evaluated the safety and tolerability of daily application of patented transdermal vitamin D patches and assessed changes in vitamin D levels.

Key Findings

  • Participants’ vitamin D blood levels increased by an average of +14 nmol/L
  • Percentage of those classified as deficient dropped from 23% at baseline to 0%
  • Percentage of participants in the normal range increased from 37% at baseline to 70%

Conclusion
